Oleksandr Tereshchenko deems football to be one of the effective methods of rehabilitation and adaptation of veterans

The Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs has stated this during an online conference dedicated to social programs to help the defenders of Ukraine.

In order to support veterans, involve them in physical and psychological rehabilitation, promote sports and a healthy lifestyle in the veteran community, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and NGOs - "Ukrainian Football Association", "Football Federation of ATO participants" today have signed a trilateral agreement on cooperation.

“The war for our independence has been going on for the seventh year. There are now more than 400,000 veterans that returned from the war in Ukraine, over 15,000 out of them are people with disabilities. We have a huge responsibility to them. The state, the public and business need to work in synergy to help veterans socialize, rehabilitate and adjust to a peaceful life. That is why the Ministry of Veterans supported the initiative of veteran football as one of the types of sports rehabilitation,” noted Oleksandr Tereshchenko.

Recall that this year the final match of the All-Ukrainian Championship of Ukraine among ATO/JFO veterans took place at the Valery Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium under the auspices of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
